Erasmus Mundus is a scholarship provided by a
group of European Universities which co-operates with each other and students
have to spend their semesters in the universities participating in this
program. I.e. you will be studying in more than one university and in more than
a country.
The aim is to enhance the quality of European
higher education and to promote dialogue and understanding between people and
cultures through cooperation with third countries.
The Erasmus Mundus programmes provide support to:
Higher education institutions that wish to implement
joint programmes at postgraduate level or to set-up inter-institutional
cooperation partnerships between universities from Europe and targeted
Third-Countries.
individual students, researchers and university staff who wish to spend a
study / research / teaching period in the context of one of the above mentioned
joint programmes or cooperation partnerships;
any organization active in the field of higher education that wishes to develop
projects aiming at enhancing the attractiveness, profile, visibility and image
of European higher education worldwide .
What Does the Scholarship Cover?
It covers your tuition fee, travelling expenses (flight
ticket/train ticket/bus ticket in and around the Europe since you will be travelling between countries and universities in europe) and also students are given a stipend depending
upon the program of around 800 Euros a month. Virtually you are not going to
spend anything!!
Since the Erasmus Programs policy changes every four years or
so I will concentrate mainly on programs available for students in which they
can apply and get benefit of the scholarship.
