Countries where you can Immigrate/Settle easily

Nowadays people want to live with a better standard. Most students going for higher education tend to select the country and the university based on following criteria they carry. This is based on survey conducted by me on many students who want to study abroad. Even though this covers very less number of student’s view but generally I think we can agree with this priority list since even I kept my priority list almost same as this while choosing my education destination. The priority mentioned below is from highest to the lowest.

*Job Opportunities

*Whether Visa Extension is possible after Education and possibility of Permanent Residency

*University Ranking and Reputation (top tier or not!!)

*Local Language in the country (whether its English or some alien language)
*Course and a student's interest in that course
*Tuition fees
*Cost of Living
*Location (City or Town/ Populated or not)
*Whether the extracurricular activities are supported and students can go to bar, have a good nightlife and outings.
*Social Problems like Racism and Economic Downturn

Well it’s just odd that course relevance’s importance is reducing day by day and people are more interested in University reputation and somehow want to finish their studies and enter into job market whether interested or not as long as they can make 6 figure dollars.
Well look at the second priority. People really want to settle somewhere and continue working there. Even though second priority is not pointing out that students are basically aiming for the Green Card since many students also want to get international job experience through visa extension and then return to their home country and work there.

Also this proves the reason the number of application in UK has reduced by almost 33% in a year, after the visa restriction was introduced. Students have only 4 months to look for job after completing their education and there you have the result: University of Manchester (a top tier university in the world in UK) is looking to fill up its international student’s quota till June. UK’s loss is gain for many countries. UK which is still the second preference for students for higher education has become less popular within a span of two years after visa rules were changed. So which countries have actually benefitted and where you can immigrate and settle easily? Let’s find out!!!!

  • CANADA- The instant UK visa rule changed, the application for Canadian universities rose up rapidly. People don’t care whether Canada is cold or not but they are tempted with its visa rules and PR (permanent residency) system. Being close to USA and one of the multicultural countries and voted as one of the best countries to live  in students are flocking to Canada, no matter whether they get their choice of  course and university or not. Finish a one year course and you get one year visa extension. Finish two year course you get three year visa extension to look for job. If you get a job , you apply for PR after 6 months and sometimes immediately and within two years you become Canadian Citizen as opposed to 10+ years to get a USA Green Card. How exactly they calculate the eligibility for Canadian PR will be covered in another blog post
  • Australia- Students don’t care much about racism. Students don’t care about the heavy tuition fee. But they do care about the 2-3 year Visa extension after finishing their education. With a high standard of living and better job prospects and easy PR rules, Australia is third most famous study abroad destination among students in Asia. You can get your PR in Australia within two years as well. But get ready to spend 50000-70000USD for education.
  • New Zealand- New Zealand’s population is aging day by day and the government wants young students to come and contribute to their country’s economy. With this motto the PR rules in the country has been relaxed and by 2015 they want to increase their education sector by 25%. You can study in New Zealand with a minimal tuition fees compared to Australia and settle there after your PR is processed within three years. And you get visa extension for 2 years, same as the kangaroos
  • Singapore- Study in Singapore and if you get into the job sector you can apply for PR and your PR application is processed within nominal time. The time span ranges from 6 months to one year!!! Crazy right. But not all the applicants are given visa and there are regulations. I’ll cover those in another post.
  • Ireland-If any country has benefited more than any other after UK visa changes its Ireland. You get one year visa extension after finishing your one year program in Ireland. And it takes 36 months (3 years) to process your PR/Green Card application. Even though currently Ireland job market is in downturn, few sectors like information technology, engineering and medical are still intact.
  • USA- Well I listed USA in the end because getting a green card in USA is like dream come true. It takes minimum 10 years to get your visa processed. Even though after completing your education you get a two year visa extension, mostly students return back to their home country after that. But USA is still a country well known for its university reputation , technology prowess  and one everyone dreams of going

This ends the list of countries where you can settle much easily. By the way don’t even think about other EUROPEAN Countries if your aim is to settle down. Visa regulations are quite strict and local language of the country has to be known to apply for Green Card. Also processing time is very high. But there is certain employment card which allows you to work as much as you want even though you can’t enjoy the benefits of a citizen. For example, blue card in Germany. I’ll cover that in next blog post. Until then Sayonara!!!! Please do comment.

France finally changes visa policy for Indian students

In one of my previous post I had explained how visa extension rule has become such important while short listing countries for higher studies and the amount of importance students gives to work permit and visa extension to search for a job. http://studyabroadcounselling.blogspot.in/2013/06/countries-where-you-can-immigratesettle.html The reason countries like USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are enjoying immense success in terms of higher education and the reason why UK has fallen as the top choice for higher education for students in India is because of the work visa which in the former countries is given for 2 years or more to search for job while in the later it was reduced to 4 months.

Best Country To Work and Settle In Europe

I am almost finished with my masters and have few job offers. I did a lot of research when I started applying for jobs and found out many things and realized many mistakes I did but also many opportunities which is open out there where I can work and earn and have fun, European Union is huge and diverse and there are a lots of countries where you can move to after finishing your masters. Even though the VISA you have or get after finishing your masters is a job search visa , which is valid for 18 months (if you have graduated from Germany or else it varies from 6 months to 1 year) you can convert it to a work visa or blue card depending upon your salary and your employer. If your salary is more than 48,000 (for someone who has not graduated from a German university ) or 38,000 (For someone who has graduated from a German University) then after probation period you get a blue card for 2 years to work and stay in European Union. With this blue card you can work like a normal Eu...
