Study Abroad Counselling

 Are you going to study abroad? Have you packed your bags? No? Indeed, you have visited this post because you are confused about what you should pack and whatnot. The chances are high that when you have asked other people, they may have brushed you off in the name of common sense. You are right in trying to find out the items which you must choose to take with you. Mostly, it is a personalized decision to decide what you should take with yourself. However, certain items are of absolute necessity and must always consider bringing while going abroad.  

Studying abroad opens many doors when it comes to education, relationships, and personal growth. The value we get as individuals from each of our own unique study abroad experiences is dependent on our behavior and habits during this special time.   As a serial study-abroader, I’ve compiled a few Do’s and Don’ts to help fellow students make the best of their time away from home. 1) Do be as curious as possible.  Everyone loves talking about their own culture. The more questions you ask and the more inquisitive you are towards local people while abroad, the more benefits you will reap. When you see a menu item you don’t recognize, ask the waiter what it is. When your host family is talking about a local television show, ask them to explain it to you. Studying abroad is never easy. But the most difficult part is making up your mind and just going for it. The process from the moment you decide and the moment when you land in a foreign city is the most difficult phase of your life and the immense satisfaction it when all your hard work pays of is truly enormous. I still remember when I was in college and there were campus interviews going on (during the end of my 7th semester), I was in a dilemma whether to go for a job or for a master’s degree. Each had its pros and cons and for many students it’s also a war between your inner feelings and requirements and your family. Well they have to invest on you and if like me you are from a middle class family from India then even 10000 Euros is worth a lot of fortune and most of the students have to go for loan after mortgaging their property or jewelries or whatever their family can afford. .

This is my second blog (the first being focused on my robotics) and the reason for starting this blog was well due to frustration, immense waste of time and money which I had to endure by applying to universities through consultancies rather than on my own and my heart which inspired me to start something which can be useful to young aspirants who are looking to study abroad with dreams and aspirations and help them in choosing the right path without wasting money for it. Incredibly I spent 40000+ INR money on my consultancy and the bad news, well i got rejected from almost all the universities to which i had applied through them.               It was a wake up call for me and then after 1 year of research and data gathering through net and direct visits to education fairs, I realized that going to the consultancy was the worst idea ever and that  I could have done everything on my own.
